MARCH 1, 2009
Hope this finds everyone doing well out there. We are doing just fine here. We are just keeping busy with the day to day stuff, like always. The kids are looking forward to spring break which is the last week in March, first week of April. Shortly after that will be Tyler’s graduation and then summertime!!
Shane is doing well!! He was put into a different area of the training unit where you heal and then they put you with a company that is basically in the same time frame of where you left off with your previous company. His foot is healing, but he then had heel problems with several fractures in and around the heel. Now, he says, the heel is much better and it feels just fine to him. I told him not to rush, because once he gets back he does NOT want to get hurt again or they may discharge him. His doctor appointment is the 9th, so he will have another bone scan done and see how things look on the foot. I pray that he just heals and can move forward. If all goes well, he should graduate in May. That would get him home just in time to see Tyler graduate and see all the family here. Shane is able to call/text on the weekends, so that is nice. I just sent him a box full of movies, the portable DVD player, his Ipod, headphones, chargers, etc, etc. He didn’t get it today, so we are hoping next week he will. We are sending him so many good thoughts his way!!
Tyler is working away at Starbucks and also with his school work so that he can graduate this May!! We are pretty excited for the big event. It is May 23rd and everyone is welcome to come celebrate with us. Tyler did really well in the Topper Revue and continues to jam out with friends in his spare time. He is also still dating Emily and she is a real nice girl. Emily will be starting out in college as a Sophomore due to her grades and classes she has been taking. She will also be attending UNM in Albuquerque in the fall, like Tyler is.
Kalyn is getting really excited to go to San Diego on March 19th!! Her trip is all paid for and now she is just saving up for some spending money to take along with her. I hope she will take some real nice pictures this year so I can post them for you all to see. Their BIG stops on the trip are Sea World and Hard Rock CafĂ©. Kalyn is doing real good in school and is trying her best to get good grades the rest of the year. We had a conference with the advisors to setup classes for next year and she is gonna have a full load. Hopefully she can keep up with it. She is still driving here and there and we are going to go renew her license for another 6 months due to the fact that she doesn’t have all her driving time in yet. So, by summer, she should be fully licensed. Scary thought!! No, she is a really safe driver!!
As for myself, I continue to keep the kids in line, work all my jobs and exercise about 5 days a week. Time is just flying by so fast I can hardly comprehend it!! Life is good, I cannot complain at the moment!! I went and saw “Slumdog Millionaire”, which was an excellent movie. I also was rooting for the Cardinals to win the Super Bowl, but they lost to the Steelers. Oh well…..there’s always next year. I go see the eye doctor, regular doctor and dentist all within the next month, so I will let you know if any of them find anything wrong with me…..besides the obvious, that is!!!
Until next time......

Happy Monday February 23rd!!
As for the rest of the family, Kalyn stayed home all weekend, except to work on Saturday night. Tyler has bronchitis or something so he stayed home all weekend and in bed!! I worked all weekend, so I was barely home!!!
Weatherwise, it was gorgeous outside. Didn't get to enjoy much of it, but that's ok.
Kevin turned 27 over the weekend. I baked him a cake and brought it over to him on Saturday in between commuting to my jobs. He said he had a good day and was very thankful for the cake.
Have a great week! Until next time.....

Happy President's Day....(and for a few...happy birthday!)
Hey all, Hope your day today is great. We are off from work/school due the holiday and this will be the last one until May!! Yikes!!
Here is a picture of my new treadmill and new area rug I purchased yesterday. The treadmill I got with my bank bonus money (we got it late January) that I've been holding on to hoping to find a good deal on one or an exercise bike! This one I purchased at Big 5 and it was knocked down from $400 to $250.
The area rug I got at Lowe's. We really needed something a bit more cushiony for the floor. Our carpet is paper thin so this helps tremendously. It's not bad....a little different to get used to. Sent Shane a picture over text and he approved of it also.
The other picture is a view from where I park my car at the bank and thought the mountains looked great that day!!
Not much else going on, just work and more work and throw in some exercise and cooking dinner, doing laundry and you know what I did that day!! I had a great weekend getting things done around here and so I'm content.
Until next time....

"Slumdog" Saturday
Shane was able to call today. He's doing better and hoping to find out next week what they will do with him as far as either sending him home to heal or just have him heal there. He's not having much pain right now, so I am praying he can just heal and move on!! I'm so looking forward to a life in the military and want this to work!!
The kids are both at work right now and I'm just hanging out catching up on stuff here. Laundry, dishes, etc. Both kids spent the night at friends' houses last night so I came home from working at the gym to an empty house. It was nice and peaceful here with the kitties!!
Aunt Julie confirmed her reservations with us for Tyler's graduation. The house will be at max capacity so we may have to set people up in tents in the yard!! hahaha....no not really.
Have a good weekend all!! Until next time....

It's Wednesday!!
Not sure if everyone has seen this sign that Tj made for me. It's pretty large and I'm sure everyone in Los Alamos can see it, no matter where they are in town!! hahaha.... all joking aside...it's a wonderful sign!!
So glad it is Wednesday. The weeks and days just seem to fly by! All is well here, just wanted to say "hey" and wish you all a Happy Wednesday!
Until next time.....

Super Bowl Sunday!!
Hope this finds everyone well out there. Just enjoying another beautiful day!! The weather has been unseasonably warm the past week. Little chilly at night (20's or so) and then during the day in the 40's to low 50's. Pretty warm for it being winter. The snow is almost gone, as well, and I'm sure it won't last long!! I even went for a run yesterday in shorts!! That's how crazy the weather is right now.
Today is Shane's 39th birthday and we are hoping he gets to make a phone call home so we can wish him a nice one. Not sure how nice one can have a birthday at basic training, but we can only hope!! Actually his group is in AIT now, so I can't call it basic training!! We will find out this week if he is coming home again to heal. Today is kind of sad cuz we always celebrate Shane's birthday with the Super Bowl, and he's not here!! :(
Today I'm catching up on scrapbooks and then I work at the gym this afternoon and then on to a Super Bowl party I go! My friend Catrina is having a small party so I figured I would stop by there for a bit and then call Kev and see where he is at. Kalyn is going down to her friends in White Rock to watch the game and not sure what Tyler is doing yet.
That's all for now folks!! Until next time...
