Hey all,
Hope this finds you well as always!! Not too much going on, just work and workouts and keeping up with the kiddos!! It is really nice to have both kids here. They are doing great!!
Sasha has been wonderful since she's been here! She loves to run around outside and see people walking by or the neighbors, who give her treats!! She has grown a little since the last time I saw her. She is much taller and longer/leaner. Sugar is also getting used to her and it is so strange to only have one cat now. We keep Sugar at the back end of the house where my room is. We put a gate up so Sash won't come back in my room and then when Sash is in her crate, we take the gate down and then Sugar can wander around. Sug usually likes to perch up top of the cupboards and just watch Sasha. Kinda cute!!
I had a week off from work last week, so that was nice. Got a lot done. Had to have blood drawn, oil change, shopping, baking, wrapping, mailing things, Kalyn's birthday, cleaning house and cleaning for the Courtright's AND still work at the gym a few nights. Very busy but got it all done!! I also got my Christmas cards done and mailed off and then distributed lots of cookies to neighbors and friends for the holidays. Everyone loved them and how soft they were. My secret is to not bake them so long, so that they cool and become soft.
Three weeks from now I will be in Florida for the race!! Very excited to be going and it will be sooo jammed pack with activities too. Lots of racing events to go watch over the weekend.
We finally have cold and snow!! Only have had a few inches, total, but its nice to get the moisture. The temps have just been ridiculously cold. Not sure why this year is affecting me so much?? I hate being cold and have to bundle in layers!!! Wonder if it has to do with the hypothyroidism?
Kalyn is adjusting just fine and really enjoys her job at the fitness center. She hates the fact we only get paid once a month, so she is actively looking for full-time work, but will also work part-time here. She's picked up quite a few more hours here due to someone quitting and another high school girl that is playing basketball right now. Her check should be real good, but has to last a whole month!! She turned 20, without incident and had a good day on the 11th. We visited Jesse's grave and I always get so emotional there. :(
My neighbors, Ruth and George, have been spoiling me this year with fresh veggies and such from their garden. I gave them a huge batch of cookies and bread and then yesterday, George caught me home on a lunchbreak so he handed me a prime rib for our Christmas dinner!! I was so stunned!! Tyler doesn't eat meat, but Kalyn had requested steak this year, so looks like it will be the closest to tsteak that I can get!! That was very thoughtful of them!! I plan to make mashed potatoes, corn goo, rolls, cranberry and au jus for the prime rib. I have never cooked one, but Mike offered to help me with that.
Tyler has paid off one bill, almost has his car paid off and then just has to finish paying another small bill and his student loans. He should be good once he gets his car paid off as that will help him pay the others off quicker.
Well, not much else to report...we've been getting lots of Christmas cards in the mail and some gifts here and there. It's very nice that people think of us!! I have aquired two bottles of wine from customers at the gym, secret santa gifts and then food goodies, from people. Kinda nice!
Have a safe holiday and Happy New Year and I will write more after the holidays!! Until next time....

December!!
Hey all,
Hope this finds you well out there!! I've been doing good and of course been busy for sure!!
Kalyn is moving home!! Been busy getting her room ready (she will have Ty's old room). Had to move all my stuff, sell the futon, Ty had to move HIS stuff out of that room. We used it as a guest/music/gift wrapping/project room, so we had a lot of stuff to figure out and move. lol Kalyn and Sasha will be here Monday evening! Sooo excited to have her back and to have both kids here with me. Ty plans to move at the end of August next year, so this will be temporary having the kiddos back! I bought Ty's twin bed that he had in his storage shed (it was Uncle Jesse's) for Kalyn, got K a 32 inch flat screen tv, Kalyn bought a bean bag (upright) chair for her room (had it shipped to the house) and then she also mailed me her Petsmart card and I bought a crate for Sasha, so that is all ready for her! (K had returned the previous crate to Petsmart due to the fact that it wouldn't fit in her car when she left Minneapolis, so they gave her a refund via the gift card!). We are ready for her! She has an interview at the gym I work at on Tuesday am and then she will go around and apply at the Credit Union's and the hospital. She needs steady work, hopefully with benefits.
In preparation for Kalyn and due to landlord restrictions since I rent now, we had to let two of our cats go to new homes. :( Gizmo was placed at the Animal Shelter here in town...she's 12 and I think had some health problems so they were gonna check that out. Ginger went to a lady down off the hill (actually the same lady that bought the futon from me). She has a ranch with lots of animals. Ging is 14, so not sure how much longer she will last. So, that leaves Sugar still at the house....I had planned to just take Sugar to the Animal Shelter (she is 7), but decided (per Ty's coaxing) that we keep her and see how she does with Sasha around. I reduced the litter boxes down to one that's in my bathtub and put her food/food dishes in my room too. So, that way Sasha won't mess around with the litterbox in the kitchen. I bought a gate to put in front of my bedroom doorway so Sash won't go back there. We will try it and see if it works. :) My landlord thought we only had 2 cats as it was...so now we have just the one cat and then the dog. We are only allowed 2 pets.
Got my plane tickets to Florida!! Caught a decent sale, so that was good! I leave Jan 9th and fly back into Abq at noon on Tuesday the 15th of Jan. Should be a good time. I've still been running everyday, some days are better than others, but I keep at it. I keep telling myself I gotta do this well since I'm doing it!! :)
Jobs are good! Bank is doing really well and actually there are a couple of banks for sale in town, so we are hoping to get more customers off those banks. If a large bank purchases one, a lot of people do not like dealing with big corporate banks so they relocate to smaller, community banks, like us. Kinda nice!! We shall see what happens!
Almost done with Christmas shopping and baking will begin the week of the 10th, when I'm off work at the bank. I plan to mail out the boxes that week also! I'm also getting the oil changed in the car and other odds and ends while I'm off too. May as well get it all completed! I will still work at the gym during that week, but thats fine, I'm just hanging around town, so no biggee.
Not much else to report...just enjoying this mild weather we are having, but hoping for rain or snow soon. We will have a very dry Spring if we don't and that means bad fires could start again. ugh...let's pray that doesn't happen!! Until next time...

November is upon us....
Hey out there,
Can't believe how fast this year has gone! It simply amazes me how time flashes by us. Try to enjoy a few minutes a day, just reveling in the spot your in, the moment, if you will. I try to reflect, just for a moment, and mark that spot in time. It's amazing what it will do for you! :)
Talked to Gram for a few last night while I was at work. It was her birthday and I had sent her a card, but I figured a phone call would be nice too. She sounded really good and we had a nice chat!!
I did the Ruby K, 5k, last weekend in the bitter cold! I ran it in 32 minutes, so I was very happy! Next up is the Turkey Trot on the 18th and then on January 11th is the big run at Epcot for me! I'm so excited!! I'm still looking for good priced tickets!
Kalyn is doing well in Kansas. She has two jobs. She works at Payless Shoes and Spencer Gifts. I'm so glad she is working and making some money!! woo!
Tyler participated in the guitar competition, but he said they picked younger kids to win this year, so he was disappointed. I'm so glad he did that again. He is very talented! He's still at the Coffee Booth, working a little more, so that gives him extra money too. His car will be paid off in February, so he's looking forward to that!
I've just been working, running and house/dog sitting a lot. Sure keeps me busy. I try to have fun in between, when I can. Saw the movie, "Argo", and loved it!! Tomorrow I'm going on a "wine tour" of Northern New Mexico with Mike. Should be a fun time! We will end the day at Rancho de Chimayo for dinner!! Our most fave spot these days! Yum! I have Monday off from the bank, so I will clean for Mary in the a.m., go to Santa Fe for the afternoon and then be back to work at the gym in the evening. I have a week and a day left of vacation to use or I lose it, so I'm taking the 2nd week of December off and then two random days off. Monday will be my first random day off. Not sure if I will get my other random day as work is too crazy and other people are taking off too, so we shall see.
So, I've been taking my Levothyroxine now for two weeks. I'm finding myself with more energy, but if I eat bread in the am, I feel tired. So I just eat my oatmeal now and no toast with peanut butter. I'm hoping this is the right dosage for me. I sure am not feeling as tired as I was!!! That was crazy! Never felt like that before! All my other tests came back fine, so I'm all good to go now, except for the blood check every 6-8 weeks to see how the meds are working. No biggee though...could be worse!
Not much else to report...just wanted to say hello and that we are all good here. If you can believe it, I have NOT started my Christmas cards yet! I usually have those done in October or earlier! Just not feeling it and most people don't even do cards anymore. I'm sure I will, but just waiting I guess. :) Until next time....

Fall!!
Hello out there,
It sure is beginning to feel like fall around here in New Mexico. Chilly mornings and chilly evening, but beautiful during the day!! My runs in the morning are great due to the temperature change...love it!!
Surprised Kalyn this week and paid off her Aveda bill that was stressing her out. She had accumulated $545 in debt due to missing school for her emergency gall bladder surgery!! So, got some funds together that I had gotten from a couple of sources that I was not expecting and from the gramma's and we got it taken care of! She said she felt like crying and asked why I "was such a nice Mom". :)
Tyler told me the other day he feels like "he's in the way" and doesn't like that he has to live with me cuz he doesn't wanna bother me! I laughed and told him that he is my son and that I'm here for him no matter what and that it was crazy talk saying he's "in the way". Neither of us are hardly ever home so not sure why he thinks that. He's planning to leave next Summer. His car is almost paid off...only a couple more months!! We are working on paying his bills off and the 1st of 3 will be paid off in December...the 2nd one will be paid Dec. 2013 and then his student loan will take a little while. We will apply the payments we make now on bill #1, to bill #2 once that is paid off. I'm trying to help these guys out while I can.
Got apples from Mrs. Courtright last Sunday (she gave me peaches the week or two before) so I made an apple pie last Sunday and then another one today. I put the pie in the oven while I went for my 40 minute run, so that worked out perfect! Then the last 20 minutes of baking it, after taking the crust cover off, was me taking a shower. It all worked out so well! lol
I worked 62 hours this month at the gym, so my check should be pretty good! I make my car payment with my gym check, so I never worry about where the money will come from. I could afford it anyways, but it's nice to know it is definitely covered!
Today before work, Catrina and I met up over at the Crossroads Church and went shopping at the Quilt sale. I picked up one Xmas gift for Diana..so it was a trip well worth making! I'm starting on my shopping now so that I can be done! I will be doing baking again and so a few of you will be getting goodies with your gift. I've got my kids stuff already...they usually just want money, so I have that! I think I told you all that I save my $1 bills throughout the year and use that for my kids' Christmas and Birthday's...it works really well!!! Last year I had saved $600! So, back to the quilt sale...they had hanging stuff, quilts, Kleenex cozies (not as nice as Aunties!!), table runners, aprons, potholders, totes, little coin purses, glasses cases...just tons of cool stuff. Reasonably priced as well!
Last night, Carrie my boss at the gym, took me and Catrina out for our belated birthday dinner. She also invited another girl, Katie, that we work with, to come along. We had a wonderful time eating and chatting. They all had a glass of wine, but I deferred!! I had a sip of theirs and that was enough. It was nice to hang with the girls! Afterwards, I went to Mike's and we watched tv, with his Mom, and then around 10, we took his dog, Wheeler, out for a short walk. Came back and watched tv and then BOTH of us fell asleep on the couch til midnight! lol I went home and finished sleeping! lol..pretty non-eventful night, but good. I will go see him again tonight and then in the morning he is leaving for 3 days to go to Grants, NM for his teams golf tourney. He is the coach for the High School golf team. He says he's not looking forward to spending 3 days, with 10 teens! I'm sure they will have a good time.
Tomorrow, I plan to go to the Courtright's to clean, etc. She also wants me to help get her Fall stuff out and then tomorrow night is Dexter!!!!! Season 7 starts and I think I'm going to Catrina's to watch it. We all love Dexter at work, so it's a good topic of discussion...and football of course!! I just mailed all 6 seasons to my Mom so she could start watching it. I love this show..it's good!!
Well, that's all I've got!! I thought this would be short and sweet...but NOPE! I have my doctor appointment (physical) this Thursday morning and then I house sit for Tyler's boss Thursday thru Sunday next week. They have 3 little dogs I will be watching and they want me to stay over there too. The following week I will be watching Kev's dogs/cats while he goes to Mississippi to see the grandparents. Another important update is that I DID purchase my event pass for the 5k at Epcot in Florida on January 11, 2013!! I just need to find a good deal on a plane ticket and I will be set!! I got the time off work, etc, so it's all good!! Very excited to run that race!! This will be my Christmas gift to myself. Until next time.....

End of September!!
Hey all,
Hope everyone is doing well out there!! I figured I had a moment to type something, so here. Is. Something! lol
Fantasy Football is going well. We are into week 3 now and I am 1-1 for my team, Favre Dollar Footlong. I got the most points on my bench last week (which is not a good thing) so I won the Snickers award. It's kinda funny...it's an imaginary award, but it goes in your "trophy case" online. LOL I have a 3rd place trophy from last year in there as well. I still need to buy myself a Snickers in celebration of it!
Have not made a doctor appointment yet, but plan to soon. I'm feeling fine, just think I should get my thyroid checked. I am still running 6 days a week, either in the am or the pm. Usually I just go in the morning and have it done. Some days are better than others, but that's with most everything in life.
My big news is that I'm thinking of running the 5K at Walt Disney World in January!! Jennie (Tj's daughter) is doing the half marathon and she talked me into doing it as well, but it was sold out!! So, I'm back to plan A with running the 5K. So, I'm working on that and should be a great time!! I will keep you posted!!
Kids are doing fine. Kalyn is still trying to find work. I think she is getting closer to something. Tyler posted himself playing guitar on Facebook, so if you haven't checked it out, please do so. It's 30 seconds long, but boy those fingers move quick!!
I do see Mike here and there. We've really taken a step back and not sure why. He was really hurt in his past two relationships so having a girlfriend is a little difficult for him, I think. I've decided to do my own thing and if he wants to get together for an activity or outing, then we can do that. It's really kinda strange and not sure what else to do, except just do my own thing and see what happens. He's a really nice guy, but yeah, not sure...
Mowed the lawn this morning and cleaned up a bit around the house today. I'm about to get ready for work here and also watching the movie "What to Expect when You're Expecting"...it's pretty funny! It's Homecoming weekend here in LA, so we had the parade uptown yesterday and the game. I believe they did win the game last night, so that's good! Tonight is the dance. It is really strange to not have kids at the school anymore, but I live vicariously through other teens I know! LOL
That's all for now!! I work Monday night while the Pack play, so I will have to spend some time cleaning the cardio equipment, extra well!! LOL Until next time....

That's all for now!! I work Monday night while the Pack play, so I will have to spend some time cleaning the cardio equipment, extra well!! LOL Until next time....

September
Hey all,
Haven't written for over a month...lol not too much going on though, so that's good. Just working my 3 jobs and staying busy with that. Trying to pay off some bills and help the kids pay some stuff off too. I took care of Mr. Courtright last weekend and earned some extra cash doing that. I'm at the gym today and Kevin and my friend Winters just stopped by. They are buddies now...I think its funny...Winters was my friend first and then those two met working out at the YMCA and now THEY are always doing stuff together. lol
Kalyn drove to Kansas all by herself last Saturday and did just fine getting there from Minneapolis. It was only about an 8 hour drive and she did it with stops in about 10 hours. She's looking for work and a place to live since her Dad and Steph will be moving from there due to him getting out of the Army on a medical discharge. He's basically retiring so he will get a pension of some kind from them. She will probably live and work in Manhattan, KS. Its a big college town. She says she isn't ready to move back to NM yet. Wants to figure things out on her own.
Tyler stepped up his hours at the Coffee Booth and now works M-F 9-3 or 4. He is still trying to save and plans to leave next Summer with Sydney. Wherever they decide to go.... Tyler's birthday was uneventful...he got some money and he seemed happy with what he got.
When I went on vacation to my mom's, I ran every morning there and now the pattern has continued all this time since I've been back. I get up at 5:20 every morning and feed the cats and then go for a 30 min run. It's been working out great!! This way if I can't go in the evening due to an event, I've already had my exercise in for the day. I try to go after work, when I'm not working, but that has only happened a few
times. I should try to step it up more, but haven't. I've been real tired and not sure if its from getting up earlier or what? I may have to have my thyroid checked out.... thinking about scheduling an exam here soon with my regular doctor. They told me awhile ago that my levels were ok, but around here alot of people have thyroid issues.
The grandparents have moved into separate places now and I spoke with my grandpa a couple of weeks ago. He was very sad about it all and I promised him I would keep in touch. I need to call my Gram too!! Auntie Julie is living with her now in Eau Claire.
Got my Fantasy Football team all set for the season and hope this years goes well as it did last year. I got 3rd place in our league last year.
Work is good...Monday will be 11 years that I have been at the bank!! Can't believe it!! That's all for now..until next time!!!

Mom's Place!
Hey all,
Made it safe and sound to Mom's on Saturday, early evening. We've been having a great time and it's always so nice and relaxing to come here!
I had a great birthday yesterday! Thanks to everyone who send me messages or cards, etc. I truly appreciate it. Mom, myself and Jon all went to lunch at Glory Days restaurant and we just took our time and hung out and chatted and ate. I got a free sundae when we were finished! Mom and I then went to Hollywood Casino in West Virginia. We actually go thru a couple of states and only takes about 45 minutes to get to. I came out $10 ahead and she came out $35 ahead! We did well. Then, we headed back to Frederick after a short drive through a couple of small towns that Mom wanted to show me. We hit up the movie theatre and saw "The Dark Knight Rises". Excellent movie, but long!! lol We really enjoyed it. Took a quick stop at Walmart and then headed to Jon's for a tiny birthday celebration with Jon and fam. We stayed about an hour and then headed back to Mom's.
Today, Mom worked so she left me a list of chores to do around here for her. I just barely finished it all and took a shower and it's after 2:30! I should add I took my time getting it all done, plus putting the curtains back on their rods took forever! Darn things didn't wanna work correctly!! We are gonna watch a DVD tonight and I'm sure we will see Jon etc at some point today.
The rest of my trip consists of finding a beach, eating at a waffle house, eating seafood at a "local" establishment, stopping by Kohl's and watching a couple more movies. Should be a fun time. I've also been running every morning, which I love doing, cuz then I don't get behind on my workouts!! Running at sea level is so much easier than the mountains!!
Tyler made it back from Ireland just fine and had a wonderful time! While he was gone, Kalyn had to have her gall bladder removed so she missed some school, but is feeling so much better!! She actually graduated on Saturday, but just has to keep going to school for two weeks to get all her time in. She will be moving to Kansas at the end of the month and is really looking forward to that. She wants to come to Maryland to visit her Gram and also wants to come to NM.
Tj and Diana will be in Los Alamos when I get back! They will be there for a few weeks. Ellen and fam will also be coming for a visit so I will get to see their new baby boy, Turner.
That's about all the news for now...i plan to step these up and/or send out family newsletters again. I will have to gather email addresses and get working on that! I'm finding that my Dad and Gram Shirley are being left out of the "loop" on some things that are going on and so Mom suggests I get back with the newsletters. Sounds good to me!! Talk to you soon and until next time... :)

Happy July!!!!!
Hey all,
Where to begin?? One must always begin....AT the beginning.... :)
Lots going on....
First off, Mike and I are doing really well. Taking our relationship extremely slow, so I suppose that is a good thing. He turns 50 on Friday the 13th, so he has some family flying in this week and I will also get to meet his oldest son, Dustin, who lives in Denver. Mike's mom, Jan, turns 80 on the 12th, so I suppose the family is also coming to see HER! :) They are going to have a combined party this coming Thursday evening and then not sure what the rest of the weekend will hold. I took next weekend off (and also the next several weekends) so that I could join in on any activities they might do. Plus, we didn't know for sure when the party would be, etc. Mike also has his class reunion this coming weekend, but we may only go have cocktails one evening. Mike has been competing in several golf tournaments this summer and this weekend is no exception! He played on the 4th, yesterday and now today is the final leg of it. He's pretty busy so I find myself home early a lot, so that he can go to bed. We went to an Isotopes game at the end of June and that was a lot of fun. He had never been to a game like that, so he really enjoyed it.
I ran the Firecracker 5K this year and finished in my goal time of 30 minutes!! I was soooo proud of myself and have to say I ate very conservatively the last couple of weeks and did some outside running and that helped a lot! They have this run yearly on the 4th of July. It was a gorgeous, cool morning and perfect conditions! Mike's brother in law came and watched me and took some pics.
Kalyn is moving to Kansas!! She will be continuing her schooling in Manhattan, KS and go to a cosmetology school there. I believe Shane and Stephanie will be picking her up around the weekend of August 11th. She is pretty excited to go live with them and finish school. I think her plan is to return here afterwards and figure things out! K went to Eau Claire this past week to hang and say goodbye to everyone! She won't get another chance, so she decided to go now while she had the week off from school.
Tyler is leaving early Monday am for Ireland with his girlfriend, Sydney and her mom!! He is very pumped about it too! He gets back Friday the 20th, I believe. Tyler plans to live here until next August. He wants to pay off his car, student loans, bills, get his car fixed before he moves on. He told me that moving back home was the best decision he made so that he can get all this stuff figured out. He thanks me all the time, so that's nice!!
I plan to stay here since I have good jobs, etc and just see what life brings me. I love it here and have lots of friends, so I would hate to leave it just yet. The scenery isn't too shaby either!!
Our beloved church had a fire on the 4th of July!! The entire sanctuary is gutted. They are thinking that arson was involved and it happened about 10:15am on the 4th! I had JUST driven by the church when a saw a post on my phone that the church was on fire!! I was like.."what? I just drove past it and it was fine!" Very crazy stuff....the ATF is involved and now our services for Sunday will be held at the church next door at 4pm. Everyone pulled together and boarded it up and then the next day, they took food over to the firefighters for their hard work! I stopped over there (I was on my way to Santa Fe when the fire broke out) when I got back into town on the 4th, to offer my support and hugs. Everyone was in complete shock...very sad!
My plans for the next few weekends are as follows:
14/15th- Mike's party---family here
21/22nd- Mike has golf tourney in ABQ that we are both going to attend.
28th- fly to Baltimore to see Mom and Jon and his family for my birthday! I fly back Friday the 3rd of August.
In between all that, I will be working away! :) Hope you all are well out there and please keep in touch! Until next time!! :)

June!
Hey all,
Finally caught up from vacation and am able to get on here and post!! Had to work a lot of days in a row at the gym at the end of May to catch up and make some money before the payroll ended. We get paid once a month at the gym, so for the month that we work, we get paid the next month around the 5th. I only got about 1/2 of what I normally make, cuz I was gone, but it all worked out just fine! Thank goodness I have vacation pay at the bank! :) It's been good to be back...everyone missed me and everyone loved the beer I brought back for them!
Been seeing Mike Lippiatt a lot! He's a great guy and we have a lot of fun! Last weekend, we went to the casino and we danced and played a few slots. Got home about 2:30 am and then he had to be up to deliver a paper route at 5 am, so he barely got any sleep that night. We try to get together as often as we can and things are going really well. Taking things very slowly!! He got to meet a bunch of my friends last night at Chamber Fest events and also today, so its nice to show him off. He calls me a "celebrity" in town, cuz everyone knows me! lol He grew up here and then left for 30 years and moved back almost 2 years ago now, so he hasn't been around consistantly, but still knows a lot of people around here. We went out last night cuz his youngest son, Patrick (who lives here also), is leaving for Army basic on Monday am. His basic is in Ft. Leonardwood and he will be going to AIT training for satellite communications, like Jon did! Patrick is 22 and a real sweetheart! Mike's family is throwing him a party at their house today, so when I am off work, I will head over there. Mike's other son, Dustin, lives in Denver and is working and going to school. He is 25.
Kids are doing well! Tyler leaves for Ireland on July 9th!! I gave him his birthday money early so that he could do his passport thing and so he was happy about that. Tyler's girlfriends mom paid for the airline ticket. He is saving what he can for food, etc, while he is there. He's going with his girlfriend Sydney and also her mom. Kalyn is doing really well in school and I couldn't be more proud of her. She is out buying a waxing system so she can start doing waxes on the side for cash.
House is finally transferred over to my landlord, Bruce. He had to have me and Shane sign two documents for title transfer, etc, but finally got that back in the mail from Shane and then went and got it registered. It's nice to be done with it all. Only took 14 months to finish...sheesh!
I'm planning to upgrade my phone in July, so with all my b'day money, I plan to get the Iphone and then a carrier for running for my arm! I'm very excited and can hardly wait! My contract is up on the 24th of July, so that will be great timing!
Well, that is all the news for now...keep in touch and love to all!! Until next time....

Wisconsin Trip 2012....
Hey all!! I'm back from my trip and it was a wonderful time seeing family and spending time with everyone! Loved being with Kalyn and Sasha very much also!! Here is a day by day depict of our activities...this is a LONG one! Enjoy and until next time....
Road trip to Eau Claire, WI- May
2012
Me and mom left Sat. am and pulled
out of the driveway at 5:59 am!! We had great talks and only stopped
about 3-4 times that day. We drove over 900 miles and spent the night in
Omaha, NE. The next day we were on the road by 7 am and got to EC at
2:30pm. We met Kalyn at the gas station by Gram's place and then drove
over to Gram and Gramps. Jenni and Trent showed up and we all ate a
delicious Mother's Day meal of boxed lasagna! We took some photos and
then it was time to get over to Dad's place to see Sasha and Dad and
Lori. We had a good evening and got to sleep around 10pm.
Mon the 14th...
Woke up about 8am and decided to
finally get up about 8:30. I got ready for a run and took Sasha with
me. It was a long one and wore Sasha out. I then got stuff out to
scrub the front of the cars and get all the bugs off. I also fixed a part
under K's car and attached it so it wouldn't drag/fall off! Then, Kalyn
and I got ready for the day and left the house about 11:20. We drove over
to Pizza Del Re and had lunch buffet! It was delish!!! Then, we
drove both cars over to Gram's as Gram as a surprise guest for us! We got
there and Dianne from Gram's old job was there. She's a short, cute lady and
very nice! Mom and Gram had gotten Culver's for lunch so they were all
eating and chatting. Dianne left and so K and I got ready to go wash
cars. As we were leaving, Auntie Jean showed up, so we got to see
her. We took K's car and got a carwash and vacuum done and then drove
back to Gram's to wash windows and dry it off. Kalyn and I took my car
next and just vacuumed it. Then, Kalyn and I drove to Farm and Fleet to
get Sasha's flea and tick stuff. Next, we drove to Petsmart and Walmart
and got a few things there and printed a few pics of Mother's Day. Drove
back to Dad's house to spend a bit of time with Sasha and got ready to go meet
Tj and Diana as they were in EC for night! We picked up Mom and us three
met them at Azul Tequila for dinner! We had a wonderful time
chatting/drinking and snapping photos. After 2 and a half hours, we
headed out and said goodbye. We drove over to North High School and
watched a band concert! We sat next to Jamie and Bev and Babe and
Gram. It was wonderful music! We took pics after with Bruce and
Jamie. Drove Gram back home, got to say hi to Gramps and also dropped Mom
off. Came back to house and got ready for bed. This time didn't get
to full sleep until about 11pm.
Tue the 15th...
Woke up early, but fell back to
sleep. Got Sasha going again for a shorter run as the weather didn't look
the best out there. I've got an oil change set up for the car as I wanted
to have all that done before the long drive back next week. Toyota took
care of the car and got fully serviced! Oil changed, tires rotated,
etc. Went back to Dad's and helped K finish her laundry and ate.
Around 12:30 we finally headed out for the day. We drove out to the
Oakwood mall and stopped at a few shops and then got a snack of ice cream at DQ
and some Rocky Rococo pizza to share. We tried to use the photo booth,
but it was broken! We stopped at a few Auto shops looking for a steering
wheel cover for K and then stopped at the $1 store and got a few items.
We noticed my front license plate broke, so went to Gram and Gramps cuz I knew
Gramps would fix it for me! Got over there and sure enough he fixed it
for me! Hopefully it holds for awhile. We chatted with them and
then it was time to head back to Dad's to play with Sasha before Trent's ball
game. Kalyn dropped her phone in the couch and we helped her retrieve it,
but for some reason it fell WAY down into the couch and so we all had to tip
the couch over and eventually, Dad had to actually take the couch apart on the
bottom to retrieve the phone. I don't think Dad was very happy about
this, but we apologized over and over and hopefully he's ok with it. We
ended up being very late for the game, but did make it down there and watch
Trent's team win! We got hugs from Wade and chatted with him as
well. Afterwards, we were Mom's ride back to Gram's so we stopped at
Milwaukee Burger Co on the way to eat since we hadn't had dinner yet. It
was very delish and I had my very first deep-fried cheese curds!
Yummy! We took Mom back to Gram's and went inside for a few to
chat. K and I were also looking for a lanyard for her, so we stopped at
Mega before heading back to Dad's. No luck, so got back to Dad's and got
ready for bed.
Wed the 16th...
Got up about an hour early as we are
meeting everyone at Gram's at 10 to go shopping, etc. Jenni, Trent, me, K
and Mom are all spending the day together. Jill and Tim will be in town
later so there will be a party from 4-8 at Gram's. Took Sasha for another
run, this time it was a long one! Got ready and we were at Grams
before 10!! Jenni and Trent arrived about 10:45, so we were already
running a bit behind. Jill, Tim and Michelle all showed up about 10:15,
so we got to sit and chat with them for a bit before heading out. Finally
headed out and went to Walmart first to get some pictures printed up.
Went to Fazoli's for lunch and Mom paid! Went back to Walmart and picked
up pics. I bought the movie "New Year's Eve" too. Headed
over to Oakwood and got a few items and took pics in the photo booth with
Kalyn. My mom did too as she has never done that before! We thought
we lost Trent as we were leaving the mall, and Jenni was a bit concerned, as we
all were for a few minutes!! A nice sales lady brought him to us and all
was well after a few tears were shed. We headed back to Dad's and let
Sasha out and then drove to Chippewa to the Leinenkugel's brewery! I had
one beer and bought souvenirs. Then, we drove over to a liquor store so I
could purchase the beer I had wanted to bring back to New Mexico with me.
We then headed back to Gram's and there were several peeps there for the
party. We got there right at 4, so that was good. Jacque's friend
Jane was there as was Jill's friend Sandy. Hadn't seen either of them for
quite awhile. About 20 people were there. Very good snacks were
served. Right before 6, Kalyn and I needed to head out and get ready to
drive to Minneapolis for the night. Kalyn already missed two days of
school, so I came back with her for one night. I also had a facial
scheduled with her too. We got to Dave and Heidi's house right around
8:30. Brought in all her stuff and our bags and then chatted for a few
with D and H and then got settled in for the night. Mom had texted that
someone broke into Bev and Babe's house and come to find out it was their
grandson, Tommy!! Quite an exciting night! K and I finally went to
sleep about 10:30 after watching Army Wives. I sewed a button on her
pants and put her new fan together, so all my motherly duties were caught up!!
Thurs the 17th....
Slept pretty well at Kalyn's but had
to wake up early and drive K to school, so that I knew how to get there for my
facial!! It was pretty simple finding it and after dropping her off, I
came back to the house and showered and got ready to go back over there.
Arrived at Aveda and checked in, then they called my name after a few minutes
and showed me upstairs. Kalyn came and got me and gave me a very
wonderful, relaxing facial!! Her instructor came in twice to check on
things and all turned out very well!! I bought a couple of products and
then we had a nice little lunch together, right there at the school cafe!
I left and stopped at a bank to pick up K's parking quarters and then got back
to D and H's house. I put on my makeup for the day and then decided I was
bored and thought I would clean the house while I waited to go pick up Kalyn at
4:30. I did dishes, scrubbed the bathroom shower floor, cleaned the
stove, cleaned bathroom sinks, swept K's room, hall and stairs, then swept
kitchen, bathroom and living room. It is a cloudy and windy day today in
Minneapolis! I will be driving back to EC tonight. I picked up K
from school and we drove out to Roseville, where she used to work, and had
Arby's for dinner. We drove back over where she lives and stopped at
Target for a few items and then the grocery store to get her some food for a
couple of days. Got back to the house and put her new steering wheel
cover on and also a sticker for her car, saw Sasha, didn't see Dave or Heidi,
but sent them a text saying "thanks", and then it was time for me to
get on the road! I got thru the cities just fine and made it back to Gram
and Gramps about 8:15, after stopping at the gas station to scrub my windshield
clean. Mom showed back up at Gram's about 9-ish so we all chatted until
almost 10. I drove back to Dad's and did my nails and then fell asleep
with the tv on. Didn't sleep too well, but it was ok.
Fri the 18th...
Woke up on and off, but finally got up
at almost 8. Organized my suitcase and threw a load of laundry in the
wash while I went for a long run! Got back about 9 and then ate, showered
and finished laundry. About to head over to Gram's and then on the road
to Madison!! Should be nice to see the Aunties! Drove over to Bud's
hair salon and saw Gram and Gramp while she got her hair done. Then,
stopped at St. Pat's cemetary and visited Gram and Gramp Wilson graves. I
also snapped a pic. Drove over to Gram's and we chatted and ate a quick
lunch (gramp made me a grilled cheese) and then we finally hit the road to
Madison about 12:30. Had a nice drive and got there at 4 pm.
Chatted with the Aunties and Julie made margaritas and chips and salsa!
Finally had pizza and then watched "New Years Eve". I fell
asleep but woke up towards the end. Me and mom slept in Jacque's
bed. Went to bed at midnight.
Sat the 19th...
Woke up about 8 and chatted with the ladies, then got in the shower while Julie cooked French toast, eggs, sausage and fruit. We all ate and chatted. Finally got ready and snapped pics and said goodbye and then I was on the road back to EC at noon. Got back at 3 and filled up with gas, etc, grabbed a Burger King burger and headed over to see Gram before meeting Kalyn back at Dad's house. Gramp arrived before I left for Dad's so got to see him quick. Drove over to Dad's and K arrived with Sasha. We unloaded her and then waited for a call from Ann to hook up with them for the evening. In the meantime, the bathroom door got locked with no one in there, so had to deal with that chaos. K finally got a hold of Ann, so we met up with her and Haley and Lori at Azul Tequila for snacks and drinks. Matt, Haley's boyfriend, joined us and then later, Jenni and Trent showed up. We had a great time with our waiter, Chi, as well. We were all pretty sloshed from the margaritas, so went to play some drunken bowling at Wagner's. The guy had us play a game where he would have one fluorescent pin and if it was in the 1 position, and we bowled a strike, we would win a $2 bill. Both K and I each won one and Haley and Matt did too, but as a spare. It was a great time of fun and drinking. We got back to Dad's at midnight.
Sun the 20th...
Got up late and took Sasha for a long run/walk. K got in shower and we just hung around the house for a bit. K and Lori went to Starbucks and then me and K headed to Chippewa to see Cousin Becky. Had a nice visit with her for an hour, then hit up Burger King and then stopped at Jenni's for a bit. We then drove to Gram and Gramps and hung out for awhile before the bbq at Dad's. Got to Dad's right at 4...Dad got things ready to grill and Jenni and Trent showed up! Had some delish burgers and talking. Sasha disappeared and we figured out she opened the kitchen door and ran outside! We thought we had lost her, but she was right across the street playing with the dog over there. Got her under control and got rid of two ticks on her and then Kalyn and I said our goodbye's to Jenni and Trent and then K and I headed out to see the movie "The Lucky One". We stopped at Walgreen's after and then headed back to Dad's. Lori was still up so we chatted with her and I made a list for the things to get done for Monday. Kalyn drives back to Minneapolis on Mon, eve...so gotta get her laundry and shopping taken care of.

Mon the 21st...
Got up around 8 and started K's
laundry and take Sasha for her final run with Gramma. Got back to the house and
did dishes and a load of laundry for Dad, then after a bit, we got ready to run
errands. Kalyn filled up her car first and got most of the car packed so
that she was ready to go. We found another bag of dirty laundry so
decided to take that to Gram's since we were going there for dinner
(roast!). First we drove out to Olive Garden and used my gift card I had
won at the gym. Then, we went to Petsmart and I bought Sasha a
"kong" toy for her for while she is in her crate. Then, we went
to the $1 store and the grocery store so I could get a few items for my trip
back and to make copies of a letter that Gram had typed up about Aunt Flo's
life. We did all that and then took everything back to Dad's and sat
around there since Lori came home. Then, we headed over to Gram's and ate
a delicious dinner and did laundry. Kalyn said her goodbye's and then her
and I headed to the store again to get her some groceries! Drove back to
Dad's and she got loaded up and left!! I hung around with Dad for a bit
and then headed back to Gram's so Gramp could put that plate cover on my car,
but it ended up not working out. Gramps gave me meat to take home and
Gram's friend was over at their house too. We had a good goodbye session
and then I went back to Dad's right before 10. I went to bed and had
everything ready for the am to just get up, dress and leave!
Tues the 22nd...
Got up at 5:30 and left Dad's house right before 6am. I filled up with gas and was on my way. I drove 17 hours this day and got all the way to Canon City, CO, to stay with Jill, and I'm glad I went! No issues along the way at all. I did miss the turn for the shortcut to Jill's, but oh well! Got to her house about 10:15pm and I was beat!
Wed the 23rd...
Didn't sleep too well, but got up and got ready and then chatted with Jill and Tim and then Jill escorted me out of town (we had to pull over to hug goodbye!), and then I was on my way again! I stopped for gas in Pueblo and cleaned out the car a bit and then headed off! No issues at all....stopped in SF for gas, food then in Pojoaque for a car wash and then had to stop at Bruce's office to sign something, then pick up a pizza and then finally home! I mowed and clipped the lawn and watered, cleaned up house, watered plants, got laundry going, ate, chatted with the neighbor, dishes and floor mopped.
Awesome 12 day trip!!!

Vacation starts in a week!!
Hey all,
Thought I would post on here one last time before my vacation!! Me and Mom leave from here next Saturday! Should be a great time out on the road! Mom gets here Wednesday afternoon, so I will leave work at 1 and drive to ABQ to pick her up. I only work today, Monday and Tuesday at the gym and then I am off from there until the end of the month! I work all week at the bank and then off until the 30th. Should be a fun time off! I'm glad Mom will get to spend a little time with Tyler and will also get to meet his girlfriend Sydney! We also plan to go to Gabriel's (probably Thurs eve) with Kevin while she is here only a few days.
We get to Gram's house on Mother's Day so that will be nice to be with my Gram, Mom, daughter and sister all on Mother's Day! Gram will have a lasagna dinner ready for us. I will be staying at my Dad's with Kalyn and Sasha! Lots of little things planned and a trip down to Madison to see the Auntie's down there too! Trent has a baseball game one night and then of course myself, Jenni, Kalyn and Trent will all spend Wednesday together going to the Mall and having lunch.
That's about all the news I have!! Can't wait to see everyone and wish us safe travels!! Love to all and until next time....

Almost vacation time!!!
Hey all!!
Another wonderful day in New Mexico!! Love living here and very thankful for my 3 jobs!!! A lot of people cannot say that right now and it's so sad out in the work force these days....
Well, I am anxiously counting down to seeing everyone in Minn and Wisc!! 15 days!! Woo! Kalyn is VERY excited to see me and I cannot wait to see her! It's been 7 long months since I've seen her last. We talk just about everyday on the phone, but not seeing her is different, to say the least! Mom arrives here on the 9th and then we head out on the road, the morning of the 12th. I'm sure we will have a couple of good days here (eating at Gabriel's) with Tyler and Mom getting her NM fix. She loves it here!! We will arrive on Mother's Day in EC and Kalyn plans to already be there, so it will be good to be together for Mother's Day. Should be a really great time!
Things here are good!! I'm keeping busy with work and working out and stuff around the house. I've got some really good friends here that keep me busy too, so there's always a house gathering or movie to go see. I'm truly blessed all the way around!
Kiddos are good...cats are good...what else could I want!? ;) This is short and sweet, until next time....

it's me finally!!
Hey all,
Been super busy, as always! Just working away and working out are my life right now. I'm very thankful for my family and friends and jobs and thankful to God that he made all this possible!
Kalyn had to have a ton of work done on her car! I got approved for a credit card with the Napa place she went to so most of that went on that card. Now I gotta work on paying that back! Kalyn helped a little and also cancelled her gym membership, so she can help too. She's glad the car is running great now, so hopefully that was that for awhile! Kalyn is loving school and doing really well! Can't wait to see her in May!!
Tyler is having car issues too. His car has a violent shaking at about 65-80 mph. We had the tires rotated and balanced and it still does it, so we are gonna have to have someone look at the drive shaft, etc and see whats up. Kevin offered to have his buddy work on it at a discount and then Tyler's boss, Brian, will let Tyler make payments if we go to him at his auto shop and do it. So, we shall see....I can't afford anything else right now, so he might have to be on his own for this one. I like to help when I can, but boy things have been crazy with money again. Oh well! He is working on getting a passport, etc as him and his gf and mom are all going to Ireland (??, I think??) in July/August. He's trying to save money up for that too.
Just had Jesse's one year death anniversary on Thursday! What a rough/sad day! I cried the evening before, just thinking about him and then Thursday morning while getting ready for work. It is just a shame how a life can be gone! We were so close to Jesse and had just seen him two weeks prior to his suicide! Tyler was extremely close to him, especially when they both lived in ABQ together. Very sad and we will always miss him so much! He was so smart and talented. Pure shame...
I did go see "The Hunger Games", not just once, but twice!! Great movie! I am reading the book, but have been so busy lately, I'm still at the beginning. I have the 2nd book on hand too, for when I'm done with the first.
Catrina and I went out last night. First, we went to the High School Rugby game and then over to the Canyon. She had to leave early, but I had friends there so we shot pool and stuff. She is seeing a new guy, Jeff, so we've been going out the past couple of weekends! I haven't had to buy any of the beer yet! We keep getting our drinks bought for us! lol
Really looking forward to vacation to Minnesota/Wisconsin! We leave from here Saturday, May 12th, get to Wisconsin the evening of the 13th/Mother's Day and then I will drive back on the 22nd and 23rd. I'm excited to see everyone and just get away. I finally told Tyler about the trip last night, but he can't afford to miss 8 days of work, so he will stay home and cat-sit for me. :) I had thought about going to Wisconsin Dells, while we are there, but decided against it. After helping K pay for her car, I just don't have the extra funds, like I thought. So, maybe we will jaunt down to Madison and see Auntie Jacque since I haven't seen her in forever!! :)
Well, I am working at the gym, but wanted to catch ya'all up on the happs. Not much, but we are all doing well, which is the important part! Until next time....

Another Saturday!!
Hey all!!
Things are good here. The weather was pretty crappy earlier in the week. Last Sunday it was SOOOOO windy!! My planter out front of the house (it's metal) fell over and all my pots broke out on the driveway!! So, now I have no pots out there for now..I will work on getting some new ones going once the harsh weather is gone completely! Today it is beautiful out there!! Almost 75 degrees! No wind, which is very nice! I'm inside working at the gym today, but I did get to spend some time outside this morning!!
I got up early-ish and threw on some workout clothes and cleaned a bit in the kitchen. Then, I headed out and drove uptown and returned a movie, filled the car with gas and also went to the car wash. My car was filthy from last Sunday's wind, so sprayed her off and she's as good as new now! Literally! lol I came home and raked the front little yard and then raked the main yard, especially along the fence and then the back behind the shed and house. I couldn't rake the other side of the house as there is still snow back there and frozen ground. I picked up quite a bit of rocks and leaves, so that felt good to have that done. I love raking!! Then, I opened some more windows in the house and then opened the front door and let the cats roam around outside in the sun. They all loved it except Gizmo. She was afraid and just stayed on the steps by me. LOL It was then time to let everyone in the house and I had to get ready for work! (side note...Bruce, my landlord, has STILL not received the title for the house. He paid off the house back in November! Bruce told me that Greentree told him, that the title has been approved to be released to him now, but not sure if he got it yet. This has been a long, long process!!)
After work yesterday, I drove down to Santa Fe and did a little bit of clothes shopping for myself. I first stopped at the cemetary and had a little convo with Jesse. We had a nice little chat. I just plopped right down on the grass at his grave and cried and talked. Hard to believe it has been almost a year already!! He died April 12, 2011.
I drove over to the mall and then to Kohl's. Got some good purchases made! I had gone through my closet during the week...getting rid of bigger clothes and then getting all my summer stuff out to see what all I needed etc. I didn't need much, but I did, and still do need, some more shirts for work. Hard to find stuff I like out there. I'm pretty much set now. Picked up a couple of new pillows too.
I got my taxes all paid for the year, so I'm very excited about that! Now I can concentrate on getting money together for my trip and I'm also helping out my kids. Tyler has a bunch of bills and Kalyn won't be working as much now that she started school, so gotta pick up her gym membership for her. Kalyn would like me to move up that way, so I'm trying to figure things out and consider that option. I need a good paying job, so gotta make sure I have that BEFORE I move! We shall see. I've been praying about it. :)
Kids are doing good! Kalyn started school and loves it. She hates being away from Sasha so much though. Tyler is still doing his thing and is an awesome roommate!
Went and saw "John Carter" and now I wanna go see "The Hunger Games". Have not read the books and didn't know what all the hype was about until I looked it up online! lol
Not much else to report...been a good week and hope to have many more just like it! Until next time.....

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! (and happy birthday Cousin Mike!)
Hey all,
Thought I better catch you all up on things here in sunny New Mexico!!!
Not much is really going on.... lol....
I've been working all my jobs and working out 3 times a week or more (if I can!) and just chilling at home watching movies or cleaning. I've got all the Easter stuff ready to send out to nieces, nephews and Kalyn. Then, I've got Reuben's little birthday box ready to mail out...I figured I would get him a little something since he's always such a great friend and listener to me! His birthday is April 15th! I also have Mother's Day stuff all ready purchased and boxed up and then Alyssa's and Riley's birthdays are in there too. I'm trying to think ahead....can you tell?? LOL Hallmark is going out of business here in town, so I figured while the sale was going on, I could pick up all the cards I need up until Mother's Day and picked up some gifts as well, for a very cheap price! Then, Beall's (a clothing store) was having a really good sale, so picked up Riley's birthday clothes there. I think I'm all set now!! :)
Tyler is working, practicing guitar, hanging with his girlfriend and planning concerts that he's gonna go see. He's quite busy and gone most of the time. We cross paths once in a while! :) He is still loving his car so much!
Kalyn starts school on Tuesday!!! Woo!! She's been working a lot at Taco Bell and taking care of things before she starts school. She is gonna be very busy! She also found out that any makeup she uses or hair color has to be Aveda products, so she went and purchased a few items to start with, and the lady gave her the discount that she gets once she starts school, early! Kalyn was very appreciative of that! She bought more that she originally intended since she got the discount so soon! Very cool!
I finished up the kids FAFSA this morning. Had to fill in the fact that I have now paid/filed my taxes for real now. They need to know what your status is on the filing part of taxes, so I updated that. I also cleaned my entire bedroom and bathroom. I pulled the bed out and vacuumed all the cat hair etc under there and in all the edges of the room. I also had to repair the bathroom sink, cuz I had a drip going on. I've been pretty productive today! I go into work at 1, at the gym today. I also washed all the bedding, even the bedskirt. Sometimes I get tired of all the cat hair! But I do love that Pledge product that picks up pet hair, the fabric sweeper! It works well!
I still am planning on that road trip in May! Looking forward to seeing everyone!! woohoo!!! That's about all for now! Love to all...until next time!!

March!!
Hey all,
Hope all is well out there!! Just got home from the Courtright's house. I had to start her Spring cleaning for her today. I got the main level finished for her today and took me 4 hours. She paid me for 4 1/2 though! :) She's very sweet. I had to do allll the baseboards on the entire main level and then my regular weekly cleaning. The baseboards look so much brighter now and of course as I'm doing the baseboards, one notices marks on the walls around those baseboards and then dusting off the doors, etc. I had a good time, but am wiped out! Was nice to come home to a clean house and not have to do much here!
Today was a beautiful day outside, but didn't get to enjoy it. Oh well...there's always next time!
Kalyn starts school on March 20th! It is inching closer and closer! She quit the Piercing Pagoda and her last day was Feb 29th. She began a new job at Taco Bell/KFC around the 20th of February. She likes it and likes that there are more than 5 employees to work with and she no longer has to work alone! This new job is just right up the street from where she lives, so it's much closer as well. She seems to be doing well and Sasha is too! :)
Tyler got a new vehicle! 1996 Honda Accord purchased from Uncle Kevin! Kevin bought it from this one lady about 4 years ago and was getting ready to advertise it for sale cuz he has a truck and also Jesse's old car. I was glad we were able to snag it from him for a pretty good price! He sold it to us for $2750. I got a signature loan at Zia Credit Union and Tyler makes the payments. We set up the payments so that it is paid off in a year. Tyler already replaced the drivers side window motor, that was broken and then his headlight went out, so he replaced both yesterday! He takes it to Santa Fe tomorrow to get the windows tinted! He really loves it and is so much more reliable than his other car. I think Tyler plans to stick around LA until next January.
I'm doing pretty well! I'm just working and working and working out! I've been watching a lot more tv and movies lately too. Kinda nice to just chill and not have much to do. I always keep busy, but this lifestyle is a lot different from when I had a family to take care of! Crazy how life works and moves so fast! I really enjoy it though! Very thankful for my life right now.
I'm still making plans to drive up to Wisconsin in May. I got the time off, so I'm really getting excited about it. I plan to leave from here on Sat. May 12th and I just need to be back around Memorial Day so I can get caught up before going back to work. Still hoping for a driving partner (ahem..Mom) for the drive up...should be a blast! :)
Well, that's all I've got for now. Must cook myself some din-din. Take care and talk to you all soon! Until next time....

Presidents' Day!
Hey all,
It's been a wonderful, long weekend! I had to work on Sat and Sun, but that's ok! I got a lot done around the house and got to watch some shows at home and went to a movie with Catrina on Sat. eve. We saw "The Vow". Great movie!
Kids are doing well! Kalyn got her financial aid stuff all figured out and is ready to start school, one month from today! Sasha was sick last Thursday after she got some shots and so Kalyn was pretty upset for her. Poor pup...I think she is better now. Tyler's car died the other day, so we are working on getting him another car. Kevin, his uncle, is selling a Honda that he has, so Tyler is out test-driving that right now! Kevin turns 30, tomorrow, so we are going to dinner tonight! We were supposed to have lunch tomorrow, but Catrina has already called in sick to work tomorrow, so I asked Kev if we could go tonight instead.
Not too much else going on...just working and working out. I'm kinda enjoying the time to myself right now. :) That's all I've got for now...just wanted to check in and say hello!! Until next time....

February!
Hey all,
Here we are in the month of February already! Time just keeps marching on....
Not much to report, but thought I would check in here with you all. Drove to Santa Fe last night after working at the bank and came back to a snow storm on the mountain of Los Alamos!! Traffic was at a dead stop coming up the hill, almost to town, so I sat in my car for 45 minutes watching one car at a time get towed up the hill. I had 4-wheel drive, so I was fine to go, but waiting and waiting was ridiculous! Finally the police showed up and were pushing people to get them moving. The car in front of me finally got going and then stopped for some reason and then of course, couldn't get going again. ugh...so the officers let me go around him... I got up to the top and there were cars off the road, spinning to go forward, stuck in the middle of the road and little Ravy just chugged along and weaved between all these crazy folks and finally got home. I had to shovel the driveway...we had about 5 inches of snow. My neighbor, Justin, came out right after I finished shoveling and said "I was just gonna come out and shovel for you"...what a sweetie! I told him, sure, you probably watched me do it from your house and THEN came out to offer. LOL Him and his wife are divorcing and they had moved out of their trailer and were renting it out, but now he moved back in! He's helped me a lot with repairs at my place. His wife, Tabatha, I have known since she was 14 when she worked at McD's with me. She's now 29!
I'm working at the gym today, then going straight over to the High School for the Topper Revue (talent show) that the kids put on every year. Tyler has been a participant when he was in school, as most of you probably remember. Tomorrow am, I need to bake a cake for the Superbowl party at Kent and Carrie's at 4 and then at noon, I'm going to the Courtright's to do my weekly cleaning over there. Busy, Busy weekend and I had hoped to watch the movie 50/50, but not sure when I will get a chance. I bought it so I suppose I can watch it at anytime!
Things are going well with me and kids, so I'm happy about that. Tyler always keeps the house so neat for me and so we make great roommates!! Have a great weekend everyone! Until next time....

Not much...
Hey all,
Just wanted to say hello to everyone! Nothing exciting going on here, just working as usual and enjoying my new ride!
I do have to pay taxes, so not too thrilled about that. I adjusted my withholding for next year, so that's all taken care of. I'm single and no kids to claim anymore, so they hit ya, right where it hurts, don't they?
Had my ultrasound and they found nothing, so the doctor thinks it's just hormonal stuff that I'm going through. Hopefully not an early menopause?? I'm not ready for that, I don't think? :) I saw a homeopathic doctor for my tummy and she gave me pills to take when I eat. Seems to be working cuz my tummy does not grumble, grumble like it used to in just a weeks time. Very happy about that.
I go to the Courtright's today. She's been having me go every Sunday and clean for just a couple of hours, so that will help with paying my taxes! I immediately put the money from her into one of my savings accounts. I was hoping to use it for something else, but oh well.
Still planning my drive to Minnesota/Wisconsin in mid May! Can't wait! I'm trying to talk my mother into flying here and then we will both drive up there and she can fly home from there. I think a road trip for Mom/Daughter would be fun!! She is concerned about me driving back alone, but trust me...after all that family time, I will be ready to be alone!! LOL :)
I'm going to church this morning, so probably should go get ready. Keep in touch and hard to believe it's almost February!! Wow! Until next time....

MLK day! 2012
Hey all,
Well, it's been a pretty uneventful, long weekend! I was supposed to have plans with a couple friends and none of it ended up working out, so I spent my evenings catching up on tv shows and/or movies, which was really nice! I watched "Black Swan" and "Horrible Bosses", last night. I went to a movie Saturday night with my friend, Winters. He's like going out with your gay guy friend....very nice guy, but not one you would probably date. He's pretty cute too, but oh well...he was the only one I could get to go with me to see "Contraband". I had a movie giftcard so paid for both movies with that. :)
I had to work at the gym Saturday afternoon and then yesterday morning I cleaned for the Courtright's. In the time between all that, I just cleaned the house, got rid of some stuff and organized a few things. I'm constantly going through things as my taste changes....things I've had laying around, I finally put away or get rid of (or reminds me of my "previous" life). I also drove down to Walmart in Espanola on Saturday morning. Haven't been down there in FOREVER! I had to return a poster frame that I had bought for Tyler, that was too big, so found a smaller one and got some new picture frames for the living room. Came right back home, cuz I had to work at 1 at the gym. But, it was a good time!
This week and next I'm real busy with work and appointments! Tomorrow, my new car is getting an early oil change. The guy I bought it from recommends an oil change at 1000 miles cuz of the new wear on the parts, etc, so he said there's metal pieces and such in there, so I will have that done tomorrow and then not again for another 5000 miles. I have a haircut appointment and also a couple of doctor appointments thrown in there. My doctor thinks I may have fibroids so we're gonna check that out by ultrasound this week. They said no surgery is involved and they will just have to go in and clean things out. I noticed an issue after I workout, so brought it up to the doctor. I also have a tummy that likes to grumble, grumble constantly, so I'm going to see a homeopathic doctor and she will test me and see if we can alter anything in my diet to help with that. I've tried some pills you take after or before you eat, but doesn't help all the time. I have to be really careful of what I eat also...even healthy things like peppers and such, I can hardly eat. If it's spicy...forget about it! lol So, those are my fun things going on.....
Kids are doing fine. Kalyn will be starting to get her school loans in order soon and she continues to work at Piercing Pagoda. She is looking for another job closer to home and not so strict with sales and such. If she doesn't make enough sales or sell enough warranties, they let you go. January has been slow, so she is worried about the "firing" thing. Tyler keeps working and finally starting to save some money and continues to practice guitar here and with friends. His girlfriend Sydney, just had her birthday yesterday.
I'm trying to figure out my vacation for this year. I get 5-6 weeks off, so thinking about what my options are. I really want to drive up to Minnesota/Wisconsin for a couple of weeks, but then my other time off, I will probably have to stay home, but just be off. (Mom, if you are gonna come down, let me know so I can take that time off) I'm really wanting this year to be better for me, financially. Last year was a nightmare with all the money that I had to spend. Not gonna do it again...
I bought Brooke Burke's new DVD's to workout to...I tried one this morning and man-oh-man...I am feeling it!! It's a great workout and gets ya sweatin'!! I also bought Rob Lowe's new paperback book "Secrets I only tell my Friends"...I plan to get reading on that today! If anyone wants to read after me, let me know. I also have a book that Jennie White's (Tj's daughter) hubby Ryan sent to me to read "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand. I've had it for about a year and have not started it yet. It's supposed to be real good. I'm not much for reading, really, but if I find a good book or hear about it, I will read it. I record "Live with Kelly" and saw both Brooke Burke and Rob Lowe on her show and got the idea to get their stuff. I had some Christmas money to spend, so there you go.
Is it bad that I have my kid's Valentine gifts all ready to go?? LOL I also have Auntie Jacque's birthday gift waiting to mail and also am sending her some fabric to make me some kleenex thingees to hand out. I love that idea! I hope she doesn't mind whipping some up for me. :)
Still sad about the Pack losing, but oh well..they had a great season...now my weekends will be back to normal and I can workout more! And go to Bible study!! :) Love to all and until next time....

Football!!!
Hey all,
Been a wild and crazy weekend with the Wild Card games this weekend. All I can say is...WOW! Teams I didn't think that could pull it off, did and so I am just flabbergasted about the teams that are moving on. I suppose it is a good thing that the same ol' teams aren't playing next week. Becomes a little "predictable", if you will. Packers play the Giants next Sunday. Looking forward to that!!
Kids are doing well. Kalyn signed up Sasha for doggy lessons starting this week and she also got a new tattoo with her Uncle Dave and Aunt Heidi. They all went and got new ones. Tyler is just working away and having a lot of band practices. I really missed his music when he wasn't living here. It's really nice to come home and hear him playing! Quite the musical talent!!
Not too much going on with me. Just working like usual. Mrs. Courtright is needing me a lot more these days...decided to put all the money from her in a separate savings account to see what I come up with by year end. I also put $1's in another savings and use that for the kids' birthday and Christmas gifts. For 2011, I saved up $600 in $1's..can you believe it?? They each got $150 for their birthday and also for Christmas. It is such a relief to not have to worry about coming up with the money, I just save and save and voila....I've got a good chunk sitting there to give them.
Had a pretty good weekend...didn't workout, but I will be Mon, Wed and Fri this week, so that is fine. I had my dental appointment and mammogram last Thursday...not at the same place or time...My teeth are in excellent shape and I will get a report in the mail in regards to the mammogram. Trying to get all my appointments done and out of the way. I also need to figure out my vacation for this year. I get 5-6 weeks, so I need to decide what and where I'm going this year. I'm thinking of driving up to Minnesota/Wisconsin and take 2 weeks for that. We shall see how the funds go the first part of this year.
Thought I would change up my blog picture and also updated my profile. Thanks for reading and keep in touch! Love to all, until next time...
